Performance
A Generation 3 ESD coating, GroundWorx Ultra’s conductive top coat provides consistent ESD properties throughout the space. GX Ultra can be manufactured in the conductive (EC) range (<10E6 ohms) or static-dissipative (SD) range (10E6 – 10E9 ohms).
Application and Maintenance
Proper application and routine maintenance are essential to achieving long-term performance from GroundWorx™ Ultra. Thorough surface preparation ensures optimal adhesion, conductivity, and durability, while straightforward application procedures help minimize downtime during installation. Once in service, simple, ESD-safe cleaning practices will preserve the floor’s appearance and electrical properties—delivering consistent static control and long-lasting value in demanding environments.
Remove dirt, grease, oil and other contaminates by scrubbing with detergent and rinsing with clean water. Shot blasting or diamond grinding is the preferred method of preparation for concrete surfaces.
If the floor has been previously coated, clean a small area, rough up with a screen disk using an 80-100 grit screen, and then apply sealer to test for adhesion, lifting, etc. Any areas of the existing coating that display poor adhesion should be stripped. Wash the stripped areas, acid etch, and rinse thoroughly. Allow the floor to dry.

Regularly sweep to avoid retention of dirt and grime which can dull the finish. Clean the floor using StaticWorx ScrubWorx pH-neutral ESD floor cleaner. ScrubWorx can be applied using a soft microfiber mop or an auto-scrubber with white cleaning pads.

Can GroundWorx Ultra be installed over existing floors?
In many cases, yes. GroundWorx Ultra can be installed over properly prepared concrete, VCT, LVT, and some existing coatings. Previously coated floors must be tested for adhesion, and poorly bonded coatings should be removed prior to installation.
How durable is GroundWorx Ultra?

Yes. GroundWorx Ultra can be manufactured in either the conductive range (<1.0 × 10⁶ ohms) or the static-dissipative range (1.0 × 10⁶ to 1.0 × 10⁹ ohms), depending on application requirements.
How easy is GroundWorx Ultra to repair?
Very easy. If damage occurs, a new topcoat can typically be applied directly over the existing floor. The new surface becomes the new path to ground, eliminating the need for complex repairs.
