Controlled Dissipation
StaticWorx ESD carpet tiles—also known as antistatic carpet tiles or static-control carpet tiles—are engineered to permit fast, easy under-floor access below any raised access floor panels. All of our carpet tiles measure in the high-performance static-dissipative range so they can be used effectively in any application – from electronics assembly to data centers, universities, critical call centers or government offices.
Resistance in the static-dissipative (SD) range – >1.0 x 10E6 – < 1.0 x 10E9 – allows controlled static dissipation and meets standards Motorola R56, ATIS 0600321, and FAA 019f *, governing telecommunications applications, emergency call centers (PSAPs) and FAA flight towers and spaces using FAA electronic equipment.
*These standards do not permit resistance below 1.0 x 10E6.
StaticWorx ShadowFX ESD carpet tiles meet these ESD standards:
- ANSI/ESD S20.20 for Electronics Assembly, SMT Mfg and Handling
- Motorola R56 – call centers and telecommunications
- ATIS 0600-321 – telecommunications
- FAA 019f – FAA flight towers and spaces using FAA equipment
- IBM Data Center Flooring Recommendation
Why Choose ShadowFX Carpet for Raised Access Flooring?
Controlled Static Dissipation You Can Trust
ShadowFX carpet tiles operate in the static-dissipative range (>1.0 × 10⁶ to <1.0 × 10⁹ ohms), providing reliable, controlled discharge of static electricity without over-conductivity—ideal for sensitive electronics and mission-critical environments.
Certified to Meet Mission-Critical Standards
Designed to meet stringent ESD and telecommunications requirements, ShadowFX complies with ANSI/ESD S20.20, Motorola R56, ATIS 0600-321, FAA 019f, and IBM data center flooring recommendations—ensuring confidence in regulated environments.
Purpose-Built for Raised Access Floors
Unlike generic carpet tiles, ShadowFX is engineered specifically for raised access flooring systems. Its static-dissipative backing maintains continuity across panels while allowing fast, clean access to underfloor services.
Glue-Free Installation with Zero Downtime
TacTiles, PosiTile®, and CarpetLOK™ systems eliminate conductive adhesives, enabling one-to-one tile installation and removal. Facilities stay operational during installs, moves, and upgrades.
Maximum Flexibility with Minimal Waste
For PosiTile® or CarpetLOK™ installations, individual tiles align with individual panels, allowing selective access, repositioning, and reuse. This reduces labor, minimizes waste, lowers attic stock requirements, and supports long-term space reconfiguration.
Lifetime Static Protection Warranty
Backed by a lifetime static protection warranty from StaticWorx, ShadowFX delivers long-term performance assurance and reduced lifecycle risk for facility owners and specifiers.

Installation Methods for Raised Access Floors
ShadowFX ESD carpet tiles are engineered specifically for raised access flooring, offering multiple installation methods to match panel type, performance requirements, and access needs. Each system is designed to deliver controlled static dissipation while maximizing flexibility, minimizing downtime, and preserving underfloor accessibility throughout the life of the space.
TacTiles self-adhesive connectors allow ShadowFX carpet tiles to be installed one-to-one over raised metal access panels—without conductive adhesives. Tiles are joined at the corners, forming a stable floating floor system that maintains electrical continuity across the surface.
Because the static-dissipative backing connects through the metal panels, grounding is achieved naturally, eliminating messy adhesives and reducing installation time. Individual tiles can be lifted and replaced easily, enabling fast access to underfloor systems with no disruption to surrounding areas.
PosiTile carpet tiles feature precision positioning buttons that align directly with access floor panels such as Tate ConCore®. Each 24″ × 24″ tile indexes to a single panel, creating a true one-tile-to-one-panel installation.
This method preserves the flexibility of the underfloor service distribution system and allows carpet tiles to be reused during layout changes. Panels and tiles can be removed together, making reconfiguration fast, clean, and waste-free—ideal for dynamic technical environments.

StaticWorx GroundLock and ShadowFX carpet tile can be placed directly over the Gridd system without concern for positioning. Grounding occurs immediately upon placement of the floor finish on the modular steel structure.
This is an ideal combination, allowing both the access floor system and ESD finish to be applied in 24/7 occupied spaces.
CarpetLOK is a one-to-one positioning and anchoring system designed for use with Global IFS TecCrete panels. A small cruciform anchor aligns each tile directly with each panel, creating a secure installation without adhesives.
This system allows a single carpet tile and a single panel to be removed and repositioned together—streamlining access, reducing downtime, and eliminating waste. CarpetLOK also reduces attic stock requirements and lowers long-term maintenance and inventory costs.

StaticWorx ESD Carpet TileFrequently Asked Questions
How does ShadowFX carpet hide wear better than traditional carpet?
ShadowFX uses biomimetic design principles where tiles vary in pattern and color within each style. This random, non-directional design masks pile crush and traffic wear patterns that would be obvious on solid or linear carpets. Replacement tiles blend seamlessly with older tiles.
What standards does ShadowFX carpet meet?
ShadowFX meets or exceeds ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirements for static-dissipative flooring, NFPA 99 for healthcare applications, and IEC 61340-5-1 international standards. All products are independently tested and certified by a third-party lab.
ShadowFX also meets Motorola R56 and ATIS 0600321 for telecom/network facilities, and FAA 019f for FAA flight towers and spaces that use FAA equipment.
How much installation waste should I expect?
Non-directional ShadowFX collections (Patterns, Cubic, Fields & Stone) average only 1.5% installation waste compared to 14% for directional carpet tiles. This means more of your investment stays on the floor, not in a dumpster.
What maintenance is required for ShadowFX carpet?
ShadowFX requires simple routine maintenance: regular vacuuming and periodic cleaning with approved ESD-safe carpet cleaner. The dissipative properties never wash out or wear away.
