Easily Installed or Redeployed With No Disruption or Downtime

Designed for quick, hassle-free installation, this floor is easily disassembled and moved to a different space or location. GroundLock Extreme interlocking tiles can be installed by anyone—with or without experience. If the space is redeployed, it’s no big deal.

As the floor is completely reusable, GroundLock Extreme saves time and money.

Installable over virtually any subfloor with no adhesives, no odors, and no permanent commitment, GroundLock Extreme is an ideal solution for leased or temporary spaces, including secure and controlled environments such as Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs, often referred to as SKIFs), as well as concrete slabs with vapor issues, occupied spaces, operational cleanrooms, and areas requiring fast installation.

Unlike most tile, our GroundLock Extreme ESD vinyl tiles—also known as antistatic or static-control vinyl tiles—are installed without adhesives and are dimensionally stable (without full adhesion). GroundLock Extreme tiles are available in interlocking formats or as cut, flat-edge tiles* for one-to-one installation over raised access floor panels.

For applications that require a loose-lay, non-interlocking format, StaticWorx also offers GroundLock LayFlat, a reusable ESD tile designed for quick installation over access floors and temporary spaces.

*The square version can be installed loose lay or with releasable adhesive like carpet tile.

Why Choose GroundLock Extreme?

Ideal for Leased & Temporary Spaces

GroundLock Extreme is an excellent solution for leased facilities, temporary installations, and evolving workspaces. The floor clicks together without adhesives, making it fast to install—and just as easy to lift, relocate, or remove when needed.

Tiles can be disassembled and reused without damage, allowing facilities to move the floor to a new location or restore the original space condition at lease end, protecting both flexibility and investment.

Built for Problem Subfloors & Moisture Conditions

GroundLock Extreme performs exceptionally well over concrete slabs with vapor issues, uneven surfaces, or aging substrates. Because the system does not rely on conductive adhesives, moisture-related failures common to glued-down floors are eliminated.

Its rigid construction and tile thickness minimize telegraphing from subfloor imperfections, delivering a smooth, professional finish even where other flooring systems struggle or fail.

Fast Installation With Zero Downtime

GroundLock Extreme installs without adhesives, odors, or disruption. Tiles lock together quickly and can be walked on immediately after installation, making it ideal for occupied spaces, operational cleanrooms, and facilities that cannot afford shutdowns.

If layouts change, the floor can be disassembled, relocated, or reused without damage—saving both time and cost.

Reliable ESD Protection

Designed to meet the strict requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20, GroundLock Extreme delivers predictable real-world static control. Its electrical performance supports sensitive electronics, calibration areas, and controlled environments where ESD compliance is non-negotiable.

This flooring functions as part of a complete ESD system, helping protect people, products, and processes.

Extreme Load Performance

GroundLock Extreme is engineered to withstand heavy static and rolling loads without deformation. The interlocking system and rigid construction support evenly distributed weights up to 30,000 pounds, making it ideal for manufacturing environments, data centers, and equipment-intensive workspaces where conventional tiles can fail.

Even under frequent rolling traffic or repositioned equipment, the floor remains flat, stable, and fully functional.

Dimensionally Stable by Design

Unlike typical interlocking floors made from 100% plastic, GroundLock Extreme incorporates dual internal fiberglass layers within every tile. This construction prevents expansion, contraction, and doming—common failure points in other systems.

The result is a floor that lays flat, stays flat, and maintains tight, nearly invisible seams over time, even in challenging environments.

Low Maintenance, Long-Term Value

The surface never requires wax and is easy to clean with neutral cleaners and water. Individual tiles can be replaced if needed, extending the life of the floor and reducing lifecycle costs.

Backed by a lifetime warranty, GroundLock Extreme delivers long-term performance with minimal upkeep.

Manufactured for Consistency & Long-Term Reliability

Unlike many flooring systems where variability leads to premature failure, GroundLock Extreme is manufactured using a fully automated, variable-free production process. From resin delivery and extrusion to tile cutting, packaging, and palletization, every step is tightly controlled.

This precision manufacturing results in uniform tile dimensions, consistent electrical performance, clean seam alignment, and dependable durability—eliminating the inconsistencies that often cause doming, gapping, or electrical drift over time. The outcome is a flooring system you can rely on to perform the same way today, tomorrow, and years from now.

StaticWorx GroundLock ExtremeFrequently Asked Questions

Can I put GroundLock Extreme over my current subfloor?

Yes. While depending upon the condition/flatness of the old floor some corrections may be required, GroundLock can be installed over any subfloor, typically with no floor prep.

Can GroundLock interlocking tiles be moved?

Yes. One of the big advantages of GroundLock Extreme interlocking tile is that it is easily picked up and moved to a new location. Simply loosen or pry up an edge, lift the tile, and carry away.

How do you clean it?

The surface of GroundLock is prepared with a proprietary laser process to prevent the penetration of soil and dirt. It never needs waxing for any reason. GroundLock requires only soap and water to clean.

How does it get installed?

GroundLock Extreme interlocking ESD tile has dovetail edges that lock into place like puzzle pieces. You simply lay the tile and tap into place.

How is the durability? Does it hold up to fork trucks and other heavy equipment? Does it mar and scratch easily? Does it ever need wax?

GroundLock is manufactured with a non-porous sealed surface. Markings from traffic, cart wheels and pallet jacks will not embed into the surface.

GroundLock is an extremely durable material. It easily handles heavy load movement with pallet jacks and fork lifts. If you fast-forward 1 minute and 30 seconds, into the video you below, you can see our durability test. We are also happy to provide the results of independent ANSI/ESD S 20.20 test reports done by a third party in 2022.

Is it easy to replace a GroundLock tile?

Yes. To replace GroundLock Extreme interlocking ESD tiles, simply pry up one end of the damaged tile, lift up and out, then tap a new tile into its place.
