When you sit in a regular non-ESD chair or when your chair, whether ESD or non-ESD, is sitting on a standard non-ESD floor static builds on your body.
StaticWorx Bolt ESD chairs used in conjunction with a StaticWorx ESD floor prevent static from building on your body, even when you lift your feet off the floor.
This video gives a demo of static generated on a non-ESD chair and shows you how quickly it’s dissipated simply by touching a Bolt ESD chair, which is sitting on a GroundLock Extreme ESD tile.

Bolt ESD Chairs: Part of an ESD Flooring System
Bolt ESD Chairs: Part of an ESD Flooring System
Hi, I’m Dave from StaticWorx.
I’m going to show you right now what happens with a plastic chair mat versus one of our GroundLock tiles when we sit in an ordinary chair, or we have an ESD chair.
This is a metal plate. In front of the static meter, you can see how much charge I have.
When I touch the grounded ESD chair, charge goes away. As soon as I release, charge comes back.
When you’re sitting in a non-ESD chair or your chair is on a non-ESD floor charges build on your body.
Bolt ESD chairs in conjunction with static-control flooring prevent charges whether you’re standing or sitting.
That’s why you need an ESD chair and a grounded floor.
