There are several generations of ESD epoxy technology. Durability varies considerably. Here we compare an entry-level Water-Based 2-Part Epoxy-Acrylate finish, called GroundWorx Basics, with the scratch resistance of shiny no-wax GroundWorx Ultra epoxy.
The acrylate product is less expensive than GroundWorx Ultra and has a matte finish. Basics requires the application of an ESD sealer, such as StaticWorx CoatZF. GroundWorx Ultra is a more expensive, higher quality epoxy that does not require an additional finish.
Both technologies have their place in the market. Acrylates are ideal for applications where aesthetics take a backseat to cost. GroundWorx Ultra satisfies long-term ESD coating needs where aesthetics and performance are equally critical.
