Project Overview

StaticWorx GroundWorx Ultra Generation 3 epoxy replaced a delaminating interlocking ESD floor in a lab at an aerospace manufacturer. The old floor exhibited signs of a contaminating growth – possibly mold – on the undersides of the tiles.

The Challenge

The existing interlocking ESD floor was delaminating and showed signs of contaminating growth, possibly mold, on the undersides of the tiles. The facility needed a reliable replacement that could handle high moisture conditions.

The Solution

After removing the old tile, a new GroundWorx Ultra coating was installed with a urethane cement base layer, epoxy body coat and conductive urethane topcoat, creating a 75 mil thick system.

Project Results

Post-installation electrical measurements showed excellent performance: RTG through a person per STM 97.1 section 5.3 ranged 8.3E05 to 1.3E06. Walking Voltage per STM 97.2 ranged from 2 to 4 volts.
